It’s no historical neighborhood – or even a traditional one – but The Village has its own modern mojo going on. The Village is a street on the south side of Ball State University, full of vibrant, quirky shops and restaurants. Surrounding The Village is off campus apartment buildings for Ball State students. The vibe of the village is to create a relaxed fun area for Ball State students to enjoy.

With two local tattoo artists and one piercing artist, Body Language Tattoo makes it easy to not be intimidated when getting your first tattoo. Each artist has its own clean workspace that helps you feel comfortable during your experience. In 2017 it received the Best Tattoo Parlor/Shop in the Best of Ball State competition.

With members ranging from their early 20’s to late 60’s the Crossfit White River is able to accommodate workout plans for everyone. Their schedule, where you can also sign up, is located on their website. Crossfit is a high-intensity, full body workout that is taught by one of their four experienced and certified instructors.

Juniper, located on University Avenue to the left of the Cup, is open for all of your last minute wardrobe necessities. This cute little boutique is the only women’s clothing store in the Village and offers a wide variety of items. Their necklaces, candles and bags are decorated around the room.
