The Ball State Box office recently released a recap of the 2016-2017 season.
Last year, Emens Auditorium made headlines as it under went a major renovation.
Although seating was limited due to construction, the 2016-2017 season saw Emens hosting 78,402 guests over its 93 events. Of those 78,402 guests, 15,150 of them were students.
The 93 events created $743,428 in total revenue including ticket sales and other sources of revenue.
31 professional touring artists also visited Emens Auditorium.
Emens reported that last season over 10,654 hours were worked back state. 57 stage hands completed over 500 of those hours in one day to setup, perform, and load out Mamma Mia!
Prius Hall, Ball State’s second largest venue, held more events at 730. Of those, 408 of them were class meetings, while 84 of them were hosted by other academic departments.
This Fall, Emens Auditorium experienced its first full semester after completing renovations.
Of the four major Artists series events, Elf was the most attended with nearly 3,000 viewers. 1114 of those were provided to students free of chard.
Kinky Boots came in second, with over 2000 tickets sold. Of those, 804 were provided to students free of charge.
Travis Wall’s Shaping Sound had an attendance of 1314 with 352 student tickets.
Simon & Garfunkel Story rounded out the bottom of the list with an attendance of 896 people and 189 student tickets.
