A yoga instructor at Studio Exhale teaches a different style of yoga at a night class. Yoga is a mental and physical practice that compliments the body.
“Just to let you know, this is not a typical yoga class,” said yoga instructor Mary Beth Reinhard.
She teaches core yoga on the third week of each month. Core yoga is a 45-minute-high intensity class at Studio Exhale.
Loyal members at the studio sign up for this class to tone their abdominal area and take on challenge.
“Regular yoga, yin yoga and the core yoga played into more energy and flexibility,” said Margaux Dever, a loyal member at Studio Exhale.
She has been attending classes since June. “I came to the core class having no idea no idea what I was getting myself into,” said Dever.
A 45-minute core workout will make any beginner sore the next day.
“You really have to focus and buckle down and it takes a lot of motivation to finish the sequences and a lot of self-discipline to hang in there throughout the class,” said Reinhard.
“It was fantastic and exhausting. I was sore for the next two or three days,” said Dever.
Reinhard keeps the pace for the class and motivates the class throughout the yoga session with a smile on her face. She adds breathing techniques and stretching to the core workouts.
It’s similar to choreographic dances, except it’s a workout with repetitive sequences.
Another loyal member for two years, Lisa Abner, said “It fuses the best of both worlds. So you’re get the flexibility, strength and quite a bit of cardio.”
